Summary
The team has been really focused on two main priorities:
-
Rebuild MVP on AWS with newest version of OpenSocial distribution of Drupal
-
Implement the new Figma designs for the MVP
We're hopeful that as we quickly rebuild GreatAlbum MVP, we'll finally wrap up our current sprint, so we can re-launch our private beta.

KEY FEEDBACK FROM PIONEER MEMBERS:
Less than 500, most on my phone (some on cloud drives) and very rarely do I share them. How are you validating your idea/assumptions? Here's a great framework for speaking to customers: https://bit.ly/2OhIw4Q which will help you build your ideal customer persona: https://bit.ly/3mmVU4Q. We used this strategy and reached out to people using our competitors products which also helped us find early users. Good luck!
I've recently been moving all my photos online, to Google Photos and am paying for their upgraded plan. Would say I probably have 40k+ photos, of which 95% I probably won't look at again. Not because I don't want to, more that I completely forgot about them!
Great project and I really like the idea. Here's the feedback you asked for:
-How many photos do you have stored across devices/services?
I am not sure how many photos but I checked and it's around 16,000 items.
-Where are most of them stored?
I have all my files in a Google Drive. Nothing in the computer, all on the cloud.
-How often do share photos with family/friends?
Through Whatsapp weekly.
Hello - I have thousands of photos stored in Google Photos. We have kids so each year we create a new google photos album and share it with family/friends and we select the photos we want to share. We did it on google photos b/c we don't want to post the kids on social media.
I don't love google photos, but the switching cost is high so we are sort of stuck with it.
Good luck!
I'm sure you're working on it, but "BROWSE AND WATCH MEDIA" section should be dynamic. Image changing on the left.
I just have photos stored on my mac Photos app. A thousand or so. What form of sharing are you talking about? The equivalent of Google photo albums?
Who are the users you're targeting? I'm curious to know if you're working back from a pain point others you're in touch with share or not. Good luck!
